Every teacher has a different style of teaching. Therefore, there needs to be many ways a teacher can introduce, teach, and utilize technology in the classroom. There are many wonderful websites to help control and narrow down what students will be viewing. TrackStar is an example of a terrific site where the teacher controls what websites students need to explore when addressing certain issues the students may be studying, such as, science topics.
Blogging can be beneficial to a classroom by having information flow in real-time. Also, you will be able to get many perspectives on different subjects.
Another idea for the library is to have author visits via the internet. It is very helpful to students to be able to hear from the person who wrote a book they enjoyed reading. This may inspire them to be a writer. A school that has a very limited budget can benefit from this by not having to pay the costs involved in the author appearing in person. You would have airfare, hotels, and food expenses.
